Itinerary : Architecture Tour of Dubai & Abu Dhabi – 05 Days

Day 1 Dubai

Arrival    At the time of your arrival our driver will greet you & assist you with your baggage to the Vehicle and drive you safely to your Hotel or Residence.

06:30 pm  Introductory presentation 

The presentation illustrates the history of the Emirates and gives a concise introduction  to  the  current building  events  in  the  UAE  and  the  entire  Gulf region. As an outline of the program, current major projects in Dubai to be visited on the following specialized days will be introduced. Projects which are in the stage of planning or early construction and cannot be visited on-site will be explained in context.

8:30 pm  Visit the Dubai Mall fountain and be dazzled by the gush of water rising  to a height of 500 feet in the air during the fascinating Fountain show. The show features a visual spectacle with 6,600 lights, 25 coloured  projectors and 22,000 gallons of airborne water.Be captivated as the fountain performs to a range of different songs from classical to contemporary Arabic and world music.                                                

Day 2 Dubai

10:00 am Nakheel

Visit  to  the  presentation-center  of  the  government  owned  development company Nakheel.  Nakheel  is  responsible  for  the spectacular off-shore projects as the Palm Islands and The World. Projects will be presented and discussed with the aid of models and satellite plans.

11:00 am Palm Jumeirah and Atlantis Hotel

Trip  onto  the  Palm  Jumeirah  via  Monorail. Last  stop  is  at  the  Aquaventure Waterpark, followed by a short tour and explanation of the Atlantis Hotel
 

12:00 pm Dubai Marina

With more than 200 high-rise buildings completed in the last 5 years Dubai Marina has become a city within a city, surrounding a 3,3 km long artificial yacht  harbour.  Stops  at  Marina  Walk  or  Jumeirah  Beach  Residence  with explanations.

01:00 pm     Lunch Break

Madinat Jumeirah

Opened in 2004, the Souk Madinat Jumeirah forms the center piece of this Hotel, Shopping and Events complex. Flanked by the 5-star luxury resorts Mina A‘Salam und Al Qasr, it successfully mimics the style of the traditional Arabian markets. After a comprehensive tour through the compound with its canals and palaces, one can enjoy a lunch break in one of the many restaurants.

03:00 pm     Business Bay

The Business Bay development of Dubai Properties stretches along the 11km Dubai Creek extension and covers an area of 47 million square feet. More than 230 towers are planned of which 60 to 70 are under construction. Visit of the presentation centre and tour with stops through this vast construction site.

04:00 pm     Dubai International Financial Centre

Since  opening  in  September  2004,  Dubai  International  Financial  Centre (DIFC)  has  attracted  high-profile  companies  from  all  over  the  world.  The rational architecture of the American-English office Gensler gives the DIFC an appearance of the highest international standards.

05:00 pm   Burj Khalifa

Designed  by  Skidmore,  Owings  and  Merrill,  the  Burj  Khalifa  is  the  tallest structure  in  the  world. Visit to the observation deck «At The Top» at level 124.

06:00 pm     Downtown Dubai

Surrounding Burj Khalifa, master developer Emaar has created Dubai‘s new downtown ensemble, complete with the world‘s largest shopping mall and a ‘new oldtown‘ quarter. Walk around the central lake with Dubai Fountain show.

08:00 pm Enjoy the fabulous evening with a relaxing cruise along the creek on a traditional Arabian dhow. Enjoy a sumptuous feast of Arabic and International cuisine. Admire Dubai’s landmarks twinkling against the night sky and pass the illuminated Maktoum Bridge, Clock Tower, Twin Towers and Grand Mosque. Overnight stay at Dubai Hotel.

Day 3 Abu Dhabi

Morning Departure to Abu Dhabi
Pick-up from the hotel in Dubai for a  60 minutes drive by bus to Abu Dhabi.

09:00 am     Masdar City
The first part of the 22 billion Dollar Zero Carbon City designed by Foster & Partners has been completed and the Masdar Institute of Science and Technology can be visited.

10:30 am    Sheikh Zayed Bridge
The bridge, designed by star architect Zaha Hadid, was inaugurated in December 2010 after being under construction for eight years.

11:00 am Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan Mosque

The largest mosque of the United Arab Emirates and the third largest in the world  was  completed  in  2007.  The  gold  and  marble  decorated  mosque  offers  space  for  more  than  40,000  worshippers. The mausoleum which entombs the body of the Sheikh is in close proximity to the mosque.

12:00 pm Emirates Palace
The national Emirates Palace Hotel in the capital city of Abu Dhabi is operated by the Kempinski Hotel Group and is deemed to be one of the largest in scale and one of the most luxurious in the world.

01:00 pm     Lunch Break

Lunch at a restaurant on location.

Marina Mall
Situated  on  the  “Breakwater“  and  surrounded  by  crisp  blue  water  of  the Arabian Gulf, is Abu Dhabi‘s premier shopping mall. Enjoy a lunch break with a view of the Abu Dhabi skyline.

03:00 pm    Abu Dhabi Central Market
Based on a design by Foster & Partners and covering more than 50.000m2, a modern interpretation of the traditional Arab market is currently being built right in the center of Abu Dhabi. Three glass skyscrapers are rising above the Souk,  one of which will be the city‘s tallest building . A part of this 500 million Dollar project can already be visited. 

04:00 pm Manarat Al Saadiyat
Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC), the master developer of Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, has built a state-of-the-art visitor centre in the island‘s  Cultural  District  to  enlighten  visitors  about  Saadiyat‘s  exciting  projects, such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi by Jean Nouvel and the Guggenheim Museum Abu Dhabi by Frank O. Gehry. Visit to the presentation centre narrates the story of Saadiyat Island and brings alive the future plans of the island.


05:00 pm Ferrari World
Opened in November 2010, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is the world’s largest indoor theme park, located under a roof designed in the style of a classic double-curve body shell of a Ferrari GT.

06:00 pm     Yas Hotel at Formula-1 Marina Circuit
The Hotel, designed by Hani Rashid of New York based Asymptote Architecture, consists of two twelve story hotel towers, one set within the race circuit and another placed in the Marina itself, linked together by a monocoque steel and glass bridge and Grid Shell structure that both cross above and over the Yas Marina Circuit Formula-1 race track.

Day 4 Dubai

09:00 am     Old Dubai

Begin your tour of Dubai by visiting the Historical area of Dubai with coloured walls, quirky shops, museums and galleries. Soak up the scents and sounds of the desert at the spice and gold souks. Dubai’s skyline is ever changing, but you will get a sense of the past at the Dubai Museum.

11:00 am Dubai Opera

Visit Dubai Opera and explore one of Dubai’s most iconic cultural destinations, blending visionary architecture with moments of magic. The iconic dhow-shaped building of Dubai Opera is designed as a tribute to the maritime history, the culture and the subsequent development of  Dubai.Each and every architectural detail has a story behind it. 

12:00 noon Mall of the Emirates & Ski Dubai

You will be then visiting Mall of the Emirates,  Dubai’s second largest shopping complex after the Dubai Mall, houses 560 international retailers spread over 2,513,017 square feet (233,467 square meters) of retail space. While the shopping remains a huge draw to the Mall of the Emirates, even non-shoppers will find something to do. Ski Dubai is the the first indoor ski slope in the region and consists of five slopes of varying difficulties, lengths, and gradients, including the world’s first indoor black run and largest indoor snow park. 

01:00 pm     Lunch Break

03:00 pm Desert Safari

In the afternoon you will be picked up for the exciting Desert Safari drive. Cross the desert sands and bash the dunes by 4WD vehicle en route to a buffet dinner at a desert camp.Enjoy traditional activities such as camel riding and henna tattoos and end the evening with BBQ dinner while enjoying a Tanoura & belly dancing show and Shisha

10:30 pm Return to Dubai Hotel

Day 5 Dubai

09:00 am Further to breakfast attend a Session for Career Guidance and Career prospects in the field of Civil , Design, Interior and Architecture.

12:00 noon The program ends with check out at 12 noon and transfer to Dubai International Airport.
